My dryer had been making a loud noise for a few days. The technician who can out to fix it, Sam, was very knowledgeable and was able to diagnose the issue quickly. I tried calling multiple companies before speaking with Elina who was very courteous and professional and scheduled the appointment same day. I will definitely use their service in the future if needed.

LG sits at the technology end of the appliance market: inverter compressors and direct-drive motors instead of belts and relays, large touch displays, and connected features on most of the current line. Its French-door refrigerators and front-load laundry pairs are among the most common appliances in newer Charlotte homes.
That engineering is genuinely more efficient and quieter, and it fails differently — the machine usually reports a code long before the symptom becomes obvious to the owner. SmartFix repairs LG refrigerators, washers, dryers, ranges, wall ovens and dishwashers throughout Charlotte and the surrounding NC and SC cities, reading the fault out of the appliance before deciding what to replace. Direct-drive motors and inverter compressors are repairable components in their own right, so a fault in one is rarely a reason to replace the whole appliance.
SmartFix Appliance Repair is an independent appliance repair company. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or authorized by LG or its parent companies, and we use the LG name only to describe the appliances we service.
Common LG faults we are called out for
These are the LG complaints that come up most often on our Charlotte service calls. If yours is not on the list, describe it when you book — the technician diagnoses the appliance on site either way.
- Refrigerator not cooling while the interior lights and display still work
- Freezer frosting over, or the ice maker producing nothing
- Front-load washer stopping with an unbalanced-load or drain code
- Washer drum knocking loudly during the spin cycle
- Dryer tumbling without heat, or ending cycles while clothes are still damp
- Range or oven display frozen and unresponsive to the touch panel
- Dishwasher not draining, or leaving standing water in the tub
LG repair — frequently asked questions
Yes. We are an independent repair company based in Charlotte, NC, and we cover the city plus the 25 surrounding towns in North and South Carolina. You do not need a service contract or proof of purchase to book a visit — tell us the appliance and the symptom and we schedule a technician.
Often, yes — same-day service is available whenever a slot is still open in your area. Booking is online around the clock; you can also call (980) 332-2443 or text (980) 449-6638, which is text only, 24/7.
The technician diagnoses the appliance at your home, tells you which part has failed and what the repair will cost, and starts work only once you have agreed to that price. Our current promotion, $15 Off Labor, is applied to the labor part of the invoice.
Our vans carry the parts that fail most often — belts, pumps, valves, igniters, thermostats, door seals and the control boards we replace week in, week out. Anything less common is ordered from our suppliers and fitted on a return visit, and we confirm the part and the price with you before ordering it.
Power to the cabinet and cooling are separate things, so working lights tell you very little. The usual causes are a failed compressor or inverter board, a dead evaporator fan or a blocked defrost system. The technician tests the sealed system and the electronics on site and tells you which it is before quoting.
Quote it when you book. LG codes are specific — they distinguish drain faults from door-lock faults from motor faults — so the code often decides which part the technician brings and turns a two-visit job into one.
